Tariff Compare keeps supplier facts, regulatory assumptions and our own calculations distinct.
Supplier pricing
We collect tariff names, regional prices, daily charges and time periods from EDF and Octopus Energy. The supplier remains the final authority for eligibility and quotes.
Region lookup
The postcode lookup uses Octopus Energy’s public Grid Supply Point endpoint. Postcodes are handled transiently and are not stored or placed in a shared cache.
Consumption assumptions
Typical household figures come from effective-dated Ofgem Typical Domestic Consumption Values. A visitor can always replace the default with their own annual kWh.
Figures we calculate
Annual estimates, cheapest time windows and price-history summaries are calculated from those supplier prices. They are a comparison guide, not a supplier quote.
